Teesside youngsters become property VIPS

The Dunkerley children (top to bottom) Jessica, Naomi, George and Charlie with Alison Meredith from times4 homes. times4 homes’s official launch of a major eco-friendly housing development saw four Teesside youngsters become VIPs for the day.

Four-year-old Charlie Dunkerley, was the star of the show along with his brother George, nine, and sisters Naomi, 13, and Jessica, 17, as they performed the honours by cutting a ribbon and declaring the show home at Steeplechase in Redcar officially open.

The development, bordered by West Dyke Road and Greystoke Grove, has already generated a substantial amount of interest during its construction.

The family, which includes mum and dad, Clare and Justin, was chosen to be the face of the launch from a list of people who had registered for information about buying a new home on the site.

The family was given a private tour of the properties, which are priced starting from £99,950.

They were also treated to a meal out courtesy of times4 homes, part of Coast & Country. The parents were presented with a bottle of champagne and the children with chocolate treats.

There are 83 homes for sale, ranging from two, three and four bedroom houses, to two bedroom bungalows, which are being marketed at Steeplechase.

Alison Meredith, Head of Development & Sales at times4 homes, said: “Steeplechase is all about providing spacious, energy efficient homes for families and couples.

“It was for this reason that we decided to choose a family, who had shown interested in moving in to a home on Steeplechase, to be the guests of honour at the show home’s official launch. “

Justin Dunkerley, an asbestos stripper, said: “The children were thrilled to be chosen as the VIP guests to officially open the show home at times4 homes’s Steeplechase development.”

“We have watched Steeplechase’s progress with interest as the homes have taken shape. The properties are being built to a very high standard and are lovely family homes with spacious rooms and back gardens.”

His wife Clare, 34, is doing a nursing degree, and Jessica is a Middlesbrough College student, Naomi attends Eston Park School and George and Charlie go to Caedmon Primary School, Grangetown.

Owners will benefit from lower running costs due to the Steeplechase properties being packed with energy saving green features.

These include a high efficiency gas boiler, solar panels and improved thermal efficiency in the walls delivering potential savings of up to 25% on fuel bills, compared with a home built to standard Building Regulations. The homes use less than 105 litres of mains water per person a day - through dual flush toilets and flow reducing taps. There is also a rain water harvester that stores rain water for use in toilets and washing machines and that also provides water to the outside tap.

The sales office is open Thursday to Monday - 10.30 am to 5.30pm. The sales team can be contacted on 01642 837222 or, for more information, visit the website www.times4homes.co.uk
