times4 homes, a “sister brand” of Coast and Country Housing has celebrated the official opening of its new housing development in Middlesbrough. This is the first time that times4homes has extended its horizons to Middlesbrough. Coast & Country Housing is one of the largest regeneration and housing companies in the North East.
The development at Victoria Close was given a civic and ‘royal’ seal of approval as Middlesbrough Mayor Ray Mallon and ‘Queen Victoria’ also made an appearance to help launch the new homes.
Six of the properties are available to rent and six on offer on a shared ownership basis.
Guests were invited to tour the properties located just off Ormesby Road, which is a popular area of Middlesbrough and which, have already generated a substantial amount of interest.
Kimberley Bacon, aged 22, has moved into one of the two-bedroom properties in Victoria Close with her partner Daniel Magowan.
Kimberley said: “My new home is wonderful. I had previously lived in a one-bedroom flat, so having so much space is fantastic. The area is lovely and quiet and there is a real community feel to the development.”
Kimberley will aim to play a similar role in the new community as she did in her previous home. She was regularly seen sweeping communal areas, painting the fences, and decorating the garden with flower pots.
Alison Meredith, Head of Development & Sales at times4 homes, said: “Kimberley has demonstrated excellent community spirit and will, no doubt, help forge a sense of community and neighbourliness at Victoria Close.
“We are thrilled to open our first development in Middlesbrough. The homes are situated in a well-established residential neighbourhood and there is a broad range of amenities a short walk away.
“Six out of the twelve houses, which include a range of two, three and four bed properties, are for those looking to take their first step on the property ladder and are available on a shared ownership basis. While the other six houses are available to rent.”
Mayor Ray Mallon said: “These new houses are of extremely high quality and make an important contribution to the housing on offer in Middlesbrough. It was a pleasure to officially declare these homes open and I am sure that residents will really feel at home here.”
